China will reduce its debt to the United States at least for 16 years.

中國再減持美債 16年最少

According to US Treasury data, China again reduced US Treasury debt by $25.7 billion in July, to $73.7 billion, the lowest in more than 16 years, the third-largest country after Japan and the United Kingdom.

$7.307.7 billion is still third.

Foreign investors held total US$ 9.1587 trillion in July, three consecutive months of high innovation, an increase of US$ 31.9 billion in July over June and nearly 9 per cent annually.

Japan and the United Kingdom remain the largest and second largest overseas holders of United States debt, with a monthly increase in United States debt, with Japan holding US$ 1,151.4 trillion in July, an increase of US$ 3.8 billion for seven consecutive months, and an increase of US$ 41.3 billion, to US$ 899.3 billion, over the British period. France ‘ s monthly debt to the United States also increased by $17.2 billion to $39.2 billion.

However, China’s United States-owned debt fell by $25.7 billion to $73.7 billion in July, following a modest $100 million increase in June. The analysis suggests that China’s debt to the United States has declined steadily in recent years, in part because of strategic considerations, but also because of market factors, internal efforts to reduce dependence on the United States dollar, the continued reduction of the country’s debt in the interior, and the desire to support the renminbi, as well as the risk of a partial reduction in its investment in gold in the interior.

In addition, Canada ‘ s total United States debt in July was $38.14 billion, $57.1 billion less than at the end of June, and Belgium ‘ s United States debt was $5.2 billion less, to $42.8 billion.
