The cyber game has recently begun to take a heavy toll on the data mining operation of the new science-fiction role-playing game Destiny: Rise, launched in August. In response to various leaks on the Internet, the development team has issued a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice to the relevant network communities. In late September, Destiny: Rise held its first large team copy contest, Eclipse. Shortly after the event, a series of game leaks emerged from the Internet connection and several players who had not yet appeared were exposed. Of great concern is the auxiliary light-caste role of “Helhest”, a support force equipped with a therapeutic drone, which was subsequently officially confirmed on the Internet.
At the same time, industry has begun to focus on the early market performance of Destiny: Rise. According to data analysis by Naavik and Sensor Tower, the 20 days before Destiny: Rise received about $9 million and 2 million downloads. Although the figures are significant, some analysts point out that this compares slightly with market performance, which is easy to follow. According to The Game Post, the Internet Easy Games are currently sending DMCA messages to various forums and Discord communities to delete the content of the declassified resources of Destiny: Rise. As a result of this, the Destiny Model Rips Discord server has made it clear that it will no longer allow any discussion involving game resource files or extraction tools.
It should be noted that this notice is intended primarily for the ResHax.com Forum, which is well known for gathering the decryption of game resource documents. One server manager explained that the web-based legal team had requested the Forum to remove the posts containing declassification methods and extracted resources, such as models, textures and audio files. According to the content of the legal correspondence shared by the administrator, the Internet is easy to write in the circular: “We find a post on your website, ResHax.com, which discloses the encryption of our game, and emphasizes that “the encryption measure is designed to prevent unauthorized extraction and use.” They further noted that such content not only divulged confidential resources, but also caused “substantial harm to our legitimate interests”.
The development team urgently needs to guard against future leaks, as new players (e.g., Helhest) exposed in previous leaks have been confirmed to be accurate, while the latest data mining has provided more detailed information on the three new roles: Jaren Ward, Maru and Rossi-11.
